Job Description: Slaughter-House and Dairy Cruelty Prevention Officer
Peedu’s People is a 501 c3 organization registered in Texas, USA and a registered NGO in
India since 2014.
We are seeking a ‘Cruelty Prevention Officer’ in the Chandigarh Tri-City Area. The objective is
to document, report and prevent cruelty to Animals at the Chandigarh Slaughter-house and in
the local dairies.
Location: Chandigarh, Tri-City Area
Work Timings: Fulltime, 5 ½ days a week
Education Requirements: Graduate
Salary: Commensurate with Experience
Your job will entail –
- Understanding the types of violations occurring at Slaughter-house and Dairies.
- A good understanding of the 2001 Slaughter House Rules and 1978 Cattle Premises Act.
- Maintaining a record of all the incoming animals at the slaughter-house.
- Recording and reporting ‘Illegal Transport of Animal Violations’ to Police/ Field Inspector.
- Recording violations & making reports for MC, Chandigarh/ Animal Husbandry.
- Involving volunteers in cruelty prevention drives.
- Raiding dairies for violations with the Field Inspector of SPCA.
- Recording violations and Issuing challans to offenders.
- Ensuring Challans get presented to court by Field Inspector in a timely manner.
- Attending court-cases and interacting with Judges and Prosecutors.
- Recording violations and creating Social media posts/reels to create awareness.

- Willingness to learn PCA Act/ Municipal Act/ Pollution Control Norms.
- Good communication and organizing skills.
- Passionate about helping animals.
- Good computer and reporting skills.
- Work in collaboration with the SPCA Field Inspector/ Police/ Animal Husbandry Authorities.
- A calm disposition and someone who works within the system/laws.
There is local travel involved in this job. Having your own conveyance is a must.
